Brewers reliever Eric Gagne purchased 5,000 tickets to Thursday's game against the Pirates, and will be giving them away free of charge to fans, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "No matter what happens over these next four games, I want everyone to know that I think the world of Brewers fans," Gagne said in a statement.

Eric Gagne threw a 30-pitch bullpen session on Saturday and could be activated from the DL soon, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Gagne will be looked at today to see how he feels, and if there isn't an issue, he will likely be back in the Brewers' bullpen as a late-inning, set-up reliever. Manager Ned Yost said, "It was a pretty good workout so we'll see how he rebounds from that. I'm looking for command and life on his pitches. He had life on his pitches. Command on his fastball was decent. He's looking like he's real, real close. We'll see if he passes his tests and comes back feeling good. Then we'll go from there."

Eric Gagne had a rough go of it in his second rehab start on Thursday, according to Scout.com. Gagne had a strikeout but then hit the second batter, allowed a hit, a walk, threw a wild pitch, had a another strikeout and then allowed another hit.

Eric Gagne, who is recovering from right rotator cuff tendinitis, threw another solid bullpen session on Thursday, according to MLB.com. Gagne pitched at about 90% of full strength on Thursday morning and is scheduled to throw a simulated game to hitters on Saturday at Miller Park. If that goes favorably, Gagne said he would travel Monday to Nashville for a Triple-A rehab appearance on Tuesday at home and Thursday at Round Rock, Texas. He could then travel on June 27 to Minnesota, where the Brewers begin a series against the Twins.

Eric Gagne, who is on the DL with right rotator cuff tendinitis, has taken a temporary leave from the team to attend to his ailing wife in Arizona, according to MLB.com. His wife Valerie is six months pregnant with the couple's fourth child, but manager Ned Yost said complications in the pregnancy have forced Valerie into a hospital stay. Yost added, "He's going to Maryvale in the morning on Sunday to get all his rehab work done and stuff. He'll be back Monday or Tuesday at the latest."

Eric Gagne has flown back to Milwaukee and will be shut down until further notice, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. The reliever has a stiff right shoulder and will be examined by team trainers and Dr. William Raasch to decide what the best course of action is. "It's all in the front of the shoulder," Gagne said. "Now we're just waiting to see. It's just one of those things (where) you usually warm up and it goes away, but it was getting tighter and tighter (Tuesday)." Manager Ned Yost said the Brewers will use a committee at closer while Gagne is out, though Soloman Torres will get most of the chances.

"He's really pushing himself really hard and taking it really, really hard. We'll probably just mix and match." Yost did not point to a single option as a replacement, saying he would work the ninth inning based on matchups. The club believes Gagne might have a flaw in his mechanics that they can easily correct.

Manager Ned Yost reiterated on Tuesday that the Brewers will stick with Eric Gagne as their closer. In fact, Yost says it's "ridiculous" to even talk about a change. "This is a guy who has had a lot of success in this role," Yost tells the AP. "You allow him the time to work through it." Gagne owns nine saves, but he also leads the majors with five blown chances and sports s 6.14 ERA.

Eric Gagne blew his fifth save of the season on Sunday. The closer appeared to be rattled by a close play at first base and by a tight strike zone, and he ended up walking three batters, including a free pass which plated the tying run. "You've got to put yourself in position not to depend on anybody," Gagne tells the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "I made some good pitches, made some bad pitches. I put myself in a situation I shouldn't have been."

Eric Gagne rebounded from a terrible first outing against the Astros to pick up his first save in a Brewers uniform on Saturday. Gagne picked up a strikeout while keeping the Giants off base in an inning of work. Gagne looked like a totally different pitcher today as he threw strikes and was throwing hard. Perhaps the predictions of a David Riske to closer transformation was premature, especially after Riske allowed four baserunners in 1.2 innings on Saturday.

New Brewers' closer Eric Gagne , trying to hold down a three-run lead in the bottom of the ninth inning, couldn't close the deal. The right-hander gave up three runs on three hits, while walking and striking out one. Gagne did end up with the win after Milwaukee scored a run in the top of the tenth for the extra-inning win.

Gagne says he is at ease and knows his role is to close games for the Brewers, as opposed to the younger guys who are fighting for a spot on the roster.
