The Cardinals signed free agent David Eckstein to a three-year, $10.25 million contract on Thursday, according to the AP. "We are extremely pleased to add David to the St. Louis Cardinals," Cardinals general manager Walt Jocketty said. "He addresses two of our needs, that of a shortstop and a leadoff hitter."
