Josh Beckett threw 70 pitches in a side session on Saturday. Afterward, he pronounced himself ready to start Tuesday's game, according to the Boston Globe. Get him back in your lineup for next week and hope blisters don't become a recurring theme.

Beckett is scheduled to return from the DL next Tuesday to start against the Indians, according to the AP.

Josh Beckett is going to miss at least a couple of starts due to a finger injury. The Red Sox are expected to place him on the disabled list Friday and recall Devern Hansack to start against the Braves, according to the AP. Beckett has a torn flap of skin on his right middle finger. The injury itself would be fairly minor if it wasn't happening to a pitcher with a long history of blister problems. Keep your own fingers crossed that this isn't a sign of things to come the rest of the season.

Josh Beckett will miss his Friday night start against the Braves because of the avulsion on his right middle finger, the Red Sox official site reports. Beckett will throw a side session on Friday. If that goes well, it's conceivable he could be slotted back into the rotation during the early part of next week. However, the Red Sox are committed to being careful with Beckett and did not yet dismiss the chance that he could land on the disabled list. The Red Sox will recall a replacement starter in time for Friday's game with Atlanta; Kason Gabbard and Devern Hansack are possible options.

The Red Sox are encouraged by the improvement Josh Beckett has shown in the two days since exiting his start on Sunday with an avulsion on his right middle finger, the team's official site reports. Josh Beckett is hoping not to miss his next start due to an avulsion on his right middle finger, but whether or not he will be able to take the ball this weekend definitely seems up in the air at this point, according to the Boston Globe. Beckett had to leave Sunday's start after four innings when he felt a piece of skin on the finger tear away. "I have had one of these before," Beckett said. "It seems to react a little bit better [than blisters]. There's two things we've got to do, we've got to get it to dry out because you've got fresh skin, then you've got to toughen it up. What the timetable is, I'm not sure what we're looking at. Hopefully I can make my next start, but that's a big hopefully."
