It was Padilla's second solid outing and his first win of the year. The right-hander looked confident in his fluid motion on Sunday, and his normally volatile demeanor appeared calm and collected. Padilla has the talent to record solid peripherals across the board, but he has never been known to have command of the mental side of the mound game.

Vicente Padilla left Tuesday's game in the top of the fourth inning, though Dallas Morning News writer Evan Grant believed Padilla hadn't reached his 60-pitch max. Pitching coach Mark Connor and manager Ron Washington both went to the mound, but there was no visible sign of Padilla displaying an injury. We'll have to wait to see if Padilla was hurt, though the trainer apparently didn't join the others at the mound, so he could have been pulled for another reason.

Padilla is being counted on to throw 200 innings by the Rangers, but that might be a stretch given his propensity to find himself injured. Even if he does stay healthy, Texas is a bad place to pitch, so his upside is limited.
