Doug Davis tested his bruised forearm with a bullpen session yesterday and said he would be ready to start on Wednesday, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

The bruised left forearm Doug Davis sustained on Tuesday will keep him from starting on Sunday, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Jorge de la Rosa is the leading candidate to take the start. Davis hopes to be back on Wednesday.

The Brewers have signed Doug Davis to a two-year contract extension through 2006, according to the AP. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Davis is 9-9 with a 3.99 ERA in 22 starts this season.
