The D'Backs skipped Doug Davis's start Sunday in order to set him up for the NLDS. Brandon Webb will pitch the first game of the series with Chicago. He will be followed by Davis and Livan Hernandez. Micah Owings would pitch the fourth game, according to the AP.

Doug Davis said he was feeling fine yesterday and is expected to throw on the side today or tomorrow, according to the Arizona Republic. Davis was hit on his left forearm by a line drive on Thursday.

The shot Doug Davis took to his left forearm Thursday isn't considered anything serious, the Arizona Republic reports. "It's not the first time I've been hit there," Davis said." "It's nothing really," Davis said. "During the season, I probably would have fought to stay in there." Manager Bob Melvin was also reassured that Davis would be fine, although the pitcher said he might skip an upcoming side session in the bullpen, just to play it safe.

Doug Davis left in the third after being hit near the left elbow by a comebacker, according to the AP. Davis said he would've tried to stay in the game had it been the regular season, and he expects to take his next turn in the rotation.
