Cliff Floyd is out of the lineup again on Tuesday, as the Rays continue to use Willy Aybar. "They’re going with the hot bat, and I don’t blame them – we’re winning," Floyd tells the Tampa Tribune. "I’m a realist. I like to win, too. At the end of the day, whoever gives you the best chance to win the game, you play." Floyd hasn't been in a game since June 6.

Tampa Bay may have fallen to the Texas Rangers in depressing fashion (12-6) this evening, but designated hitter Cliff Floyd did his part to reverse their fortunes. Floyd, hitting late in the order, went 2-for-2 with two walks at the dish, smacking a home run to total two RBIs and three runs scored on the evening.

Cliff Floyd, who is coming off knee surgery just four weeks ago, could return as early as Sunday, this according to the St. Petersburg Times. The report noted that skipper Joe Maddon was very pleased with Floyd's batting practice session Friday, but wanted to chat with Floyd and the team's medical staff before making any definitive move.

According to the Tampa Tribune, Cliff Floyd is close to returning from knee surgery. He was the designated hitter in an extended spring training game Tuesday for the second consecutive day, and will continue to get at-bats either in extended spring or with Vero Beach in Lakeland the rest of the week.

Cliff Floyd played in an extended spring training game on Tuesday and could be back in the lineup by early next week, the Tampa Tribune reports. The veteran outfielder has been out since April 6 due to a torn meniscus in his right knee. He is recovering from surgery.

Cliff Floyd is feeling good two weeks following his right knee surgery, according to the Tampa Tribune. Floyd commented, "If I had my choice, I'd be trying to get out there. It's just a matter of trying to get my feet under me now." Floyd added that he expects to get into some games next week, whether in extended spring training or on a rehab assignment, and he thinks he'll be ready to rejoin the Rays by the time they're back from their upcoming three-team road trip May 9.

Cliff Floyd was placed on the DL with a medial meniscus tear in his right knee, this according to MLB.com. Floyd will undergo surgery Friday morning by Dr. Coco Eaton, and the Rays are unclear on a specific timetable for the veterans return. Jonny Gomes is the benefactor from the Floyd injury. Gomes goes from being what most believed would be a part time role this year, to full time right fielder and designated hitter.

Cliff Floyd will need surgery to repair the torn medial meniscus in his right knee, and he is headed to the DL, according to the Tampa Tribune. The surgery will be performed on Friday by team orthopedist Koco Eaton. Outfielder Justin Ruggiano was recalled from Triple-A Durham. The timetable for Floyd's recovery is believed to be released later today.

Cliff Floyd was scratched from a start on Monday because of soreness in his right knee, this according to the AP. Floyd is hitting .333-2-5 in four games this season, but his talent has never been in question. Floyd just cannot stay healthy having totaled 400 AB only once in the past five years. If you are counting on more than 350 AB from Floyd, it's already time to go with Plan B.

Cliff Floyd did damage at the plate this evening, but his work fell a bit short as the Rays fell to the Baltimore Orioles 6-9. Floyd went 1-for-3 on the evening, hitting his first home run of the season to pick up three RBIs.

Cliff Floyd reported to camp on Saturday and is prepared to split the outfield and DH roles. "Well, I think the important thing is when I do get out on the field, play well," Floyd tells MLB.com. "I mean, not try to be Superman, because that's going into the danger zone... Whatever role I'm put into, I'm sure I can adapt to it, whether it's going into the outfield and playing two, three days a week and DHing two."
