B.J. Ryan earned his fifth save of the season on Monday night, but it wasn't easy. The big left-hander walked three batters in the top of the ninth with a one run lead, but induced a double play ball of the bat of Pablo Ozuna to end the game.

The AP reports that less than one year after he had Tommy John ligament replacement surgery on his left elbow, B.J. Ryan has been cleared to pitch in consecutive games for the Toronto Blue Jays. Ryan had season-ending surgery last May 10 and started this season on the disabled list.
April 28, 2008
The Blue Jays have handled closer B.J. Ryan with kid gloves this month. Ryan entered Sunday's game against the Royals at the "K" throwing a perfect eighth inning. Most believed Ryan would return in the ninth and get the save in the Jays 5-2 win, but left-hander Jesse Carlson worked the final frame, earning his first save.
