ESPN's Peter Gammons and SI.com are both reporting that Barry Zito has agreed to a seven-year, $126 million contract with the Giants. Zito's decision means that he will pitch in one of the best pitcher's parks in all of baseball, though he may be hurt by a suspect offense and bullpen.

The Rangers want to hear by this weekend whether Barry Zito will accept their contract offer, according to the Star-Telegram. "We've made a very strong offer. If we don't have agreement with his agent by this weekend, we will pursue other alternatives," owner Tom Hicks wrote in an email. The Mets reportedly think Zito should get a similar deal to what Roy Oswalt got (five years, $73 million), but Zito's agent, Scott Boras, may want something in the vicinity of seven years for $100 million.
