The Tigers signed Brandon Inge to a four-year, $24 million deal Friday that will keep the third baseman in Detroit through the 2010 season, according to the AP. Inge hit .253 with a career-high 27 homers in 2006. "It's awesome to get this done because Detroit is the only place I wanted to play," Inge said. "This organization stuck by me through tough times and for them to still believe in me when times are good, it's really gratifying.

Brandon Inge and the Tigers are close to a four-year contract extension, according to the Detroit Free Press. Inge, 29, made $3 million this year and probably would have made $4 million to $5 million in 2007, his final year of salary arbitration. He was scheduled to enter free agency next year but should remain a Tiger through the prime of his career.

The Tigers agreed to terms with Brandon Inge on a one-year contract, according to the AP. Inge batted .261 with 16 home runs and 72 RBI in 160 games last season.
