Michael Young missed two full games due to a left hip flexor ailment, but returned Friday and is feeling great, according to the Star Telegram. Young said, "I feel great. It was still a little tight Thursday, but it was already way better than the night before. I was told that particular part of the body heals pretty quickly, and considering I didn't do anything major to it the first time, I knew it would be real quick before I was back in the lineup."

Michael Young, who left Wednesday's game in the first inning with a left hip injury and was not in Thursday's starting lineup, is back at shortstop for the Rangers and hitting second against the A's on Friday night.

According to the Dallas Morning News, skipper Ron Washington said he wanted veteran Michael Young to receive some rest from the field this year to save his legs, so he put him at designated hitter on Thursday for the second time this season.
