Michael Young was back in the lineup Tuesday after sitting out one game and having an off day to rest a sore back, the AP reports. "It worked out," Young said. "I don't feel anything in my back. It was good to take two days off and put it behind me." Young had two hits in four at-bats Tuesday, and also scored a run.

Michael Young was in the starting lineup for both games Wednesday after leaving Tuesday's game in the fifth inning with back stiffness, the AP reports. Young went 5-for-10 on the day, though he didn't have a big share in the run production for Texas (Young scored twice and drove in another run, not much considering the Rangers piled up 39 runs in their sweep).

Michael Young left Wednesday's game in the bottom of the fifth with right hamstring tightness, and Ron Washington plans to keep him out Thursday, the Rangers official site reports. Young's considered day-to-day. "I'm going to be fine," Young said. "If I was pressed, I could post up and play (Thursday). But Wash thinks it's in our best interests to give me a blow."

Michael Young had minor surgery on his left ear Tuesday, having torn cartilage repaired, according to the Dallas Morning News. It's not considered serious and he's expected to be out just a week. Young was also hit by a pitch in Tuesday's game and had some stitches, but that shouldn't be a concern going forward.
