The L.A. Times reports that the Angels and Francisco Rodriguez have reached an agreement on the closer's participation in winter ball in his native Venezuela. Rodriguez has agreed to pitch no more than three days per week at one inning per appearance and not to pitch on back-to-back days. The Angels have been concerned in the past about how much stress K-Rod puts his arm through in the offseason.

His fastball on Monday clocked at 89 to 92 mph, down from his usual 95 mph. "The last 22 games, only three times on the mound? How do you expect the velocity to be there?" he said before Tuesday's game.

"I was working more on my breaking ball and my location, pitching inside. I wasn't throwing 100%. I was going 90% at the most."
