Francisco Rodriguez sustained a minor ankle sprain on Saturday. The injury happened on his first pitch of the ninth inning, when he landed in a hole on the mound, according to the LA Times. Francisco Rodriguez denies that he's altering baseballs in any way, saying the white substance seen on his cap is merely rosin, the Los Angeles Times reports. There have been internet reports this week that allege Rodriguez is doing something underhanded on the mound. "It's from the rosin bag," Rodriguez said, showing reporters his cap before Thursday's game. "If that's illegal, why is there a rosin bag on the mound? You can come check me any time you want. I have nothing to hide." MLB spokesman Pat Courtney said his office was notified by e-mail about the photos and is reviewing tapes of Rodriguez.
