The Pirates recalled Ty Wigginton from Triple-A Indianapolis Monday to replace the injured Jose Castillo on the roster, according to the AP. Wigginton was hitting .291 with 14 homers and 52 RBI at Triple-A.

The Pirates optioned Ty Wigginton to Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday. Wigginton was hitting .204 with 5 home runs and 11 RBI in 103 at-bats and had lost his starting job at third base last week to Freddy Sanchez. Ryan Doumit was recalled to replace Wigginton on the roster.
