Shortstop Ramon Santiago had to leave today's game in Oakland after appearing to injure his left shoulder while diving at a Rob Bowen single to center. There is no word yet on the severity of the injury.

The Tigers recalled Ramon Santiago from the minors Friday. He'll serve as a utility infielder, and there's no reason to pay him any attention in fantasy. In 80 at-bats with Detroit this year, he's hit just .225.

The Tigers optioned Ramon Santiago to Triple-A Toledo on Monday, according to the AP. Santiago, who was competing for a job as a reserve infielder, hit .303 in 33 at-bats this spring.

The Tigers have avoided going to arbitration with Ramon Santiago by re-signing him on Tuesday, according to the Detroit Free Press. The new deal is for one year and will pay Santiago $500,000. He hit .225 with three RBI in 43 games last season.
