Brett Myers was called into relief Saturday for the first time in his career, as the Phillies went 14 innings against the Expos. It's unclear if the inning of work, in which he gave up the winning run, will affect his scheduled start on Wednesday.

A week after saying Brett Myers could be pulled from the rotation without an improved start Tuesday, Phillies manager Larry Bowa gave Myers a vote of confidence before Tuesday's outing, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. "Brett Myers will be our starter five days from now," he said.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Brett Myers has been told that if he doesn't show some improvement in his next start Tuesday, he could not only lose his spot in the rotation, but he could find himself in the minors. He currently has a 7.36 ERA in three starts.

The AP is reporting that because the Phillies were off Tuesday, and then were rained out on Wednesday, they will skip Brett Myers turn in the rotation.

Phillies manager Larry Bowa said he\'s concerned that the mechanics Brett Myers uses could cause shoulder problems in the future, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. Myers puts pressure on his shoulder because he doesn\'t face home plate as he releases a pitch. Pitching coach Joe Kerrigan is working with Myers to correct the flaw.
