The Dodgers did not tender a contract to Toby Hall, who is now a free agent. Hall is better off, anyway, as the Dodgers already had Russell Martin and Mike Lieberthal. Hall should find work as a backup somewhere.

The Dodgers plan to have Toby Hall catch Mark Hendrickson in the pitcher's National League debut on Saturday, according to the LA Times. The two were acquired from the Devil Rays this week, and the Dodgers believe it will help Hendrickson's transition to have some familiarity behind the plate. "That helps," said Hendrickson. "I know Toby's style as a catcher and I'm comfortable with him."

The AP reports that the Dodgers traded Jae Weong Seo, Dioner Navarro and a player to be named later to the Devil Rays on Monday for Toby Hall and Mark Hendrickson. Hall, who was the starting catcher for Tampa Bay, hit .357 in April, but has batted just .172 since. He will back up Russell Martin.

The Devil Rays were close to reaching a deal with the Dodgers on Monday involving Toby Hall and Mark Hendrickson, according to the Tampa Tribune. A deal could be finalized as soon as today. It's thought that the Rays could receive Dioner Navarro in return.
