The Brewers inked Chad Moeller to a one-year deal Wednesday worth $700,000, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "It was important to me that I came back to Milwaukee," said Moeller. "I didn't want to deal with arbitration or a possible non-tender (of a 2006 contract). I'm totally satisfied with what my contract is."

Chad Moeller left Thursday's game with a bruised index finger after being hit on the hand during a bunt attempt, according to the AP. Moeller is day-to-day. He is hitting .210 with seven home runs and 23 RBI on the season.

Chad Moeller will start behind the plate in the Brewers' season opener over Damian Miller, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Moeller caught starter Ben Sheets most of last season. "Benny worked with Moeller last year and had a comfort factor," manager Ned Yost said. "I just thought it was important."
