Chad Moeller cleared waivers and accepted an assignment to Triple-A Louisville, according to the Cincinnati Post. "It gives us depth there, that's awesome," manager Jerry Narron said. "For his career, it would have been great if someone had claimed him, but for us, it gives us some depth."

Chad Moeller was designated for assignment Wednesday, making room for Norris Hopper off the disabled list, the Reds official site reports. Moeller, who was signed in November, played sparingly since making the club out of camp (no starts, 1-for-6 off the bench). If he clears waivers, he can be sent outright to Triple-A Louisville.
