The Astros acquired Jason Jennings and Miguel Asencio from the Rockies on Tuesday in exchange for Willy Taveras, Taylor Buchholz and Jason Hirsh, according to Ken Ronsenthal of FoxSports.com. Jennings, who actually pitched better at Coors Field last year than he did on the road, will slide into the Astros rotation behind Roy Oswalt and Woody Williams.

The Rockies exercised their 2007 option on Jason Jennings Tuesday, according to the AP. The option is worth $5.5 million. Jennings went 9-13 with a 3.78 ERA in 2006 with the Rockies. He had the second-lowest run support in the NL this year.

Jason Jennings will not start again this season, the AP reports. Clint Hurdle hasn't made a decision yet on who will get the call in the season finale. "I don't see an upside for him to start," Hurdle said. "His last five outings (28.1 IP, 18 runs) haven't been crisp."

Jason Jennings will make a start tonight, but the Rockies have yet to decide if he will also start the season finale, according to the Denver Post. "We haven't made any decision on the final game. If Jason wants it, he gets it," pitching coach Bob Apodaca said. The Rockies would also like to give rookie Ubaldo Jimenez a start, so he would be the most likely canditate to fill in.
