Mark Ellis enjoyed a fantastic evening at the plate in support of the A’s 6-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays, going 4-for-5 with a triple, two stolen bases, one RBI and one run scored. Ellis, like most second baggers, isn’t known as an offensive force, but tonight’s outing ranks as one of the best fantasy performances of the day.

Mark Ellis was the A's hitting star on Saturday as he scored a run and had three RBI in addition to two hits against the Indians. Ellis had started the year mired in a 1-for-17 slump, so this was a welcome bust out for the second baseman. Ellis hit 19 HR with 76 RBI last season, and while he may not be able to match those numbers this season he should still be a solid middle infield option in mixed leagues.

Mark Ellis blasted a homer in Oakland's season opener against Boston as he went 1-for-4 with one RBI. Ellis broke out with 19 home runs in 2007, and is off to a solid start in that department.
