Catcher Brian Schneider returned to action for the Mets on Saturday, working through five innings without incident after missing the last 10 games with a strained right hamstring, according to MLB.com. He wasn't too inspiring at the plate, failing to get a ball out of the infield (though his two hits to 2B were solid), but Schneider reports all running and fielding work were accomplished free of pain. "Even when I ran today, everything felt good," Schneider said. "I didn't feel it one bit -- not a twinge, nothing. It was a good day in that respect." Schneider is expected to work with a rotation that may carry the fate of the Mets in '08 and was acquired for his defensive skills behind the plate. Getting him in action and working behind home without issue is a great sign as Opening Day approaches.
