Marlins manager Jack McKeon said that Juan Pierre still has the green light to run whenever he wants despite a poor success rate on stolen base attempts this season, according to the Miami Herald. Pierre is just 15-for-25 on steal attempts this year.

On Saturday, Juan Pierre went 1-for-5 for the second straight day back at the top of the Marlins' batting order. Manager Jack McKeon made the move hoping it would rejuvenate Pierre's bat.

Juan Pierre was back atop the batting order last night, with Luis Castillo moving to No. 2, according to the Miami Herald. "I'm just trying to get them going," Marlins manager Jack McKeon said. "Luis is doing great lately, and [Pierre] hasn't been hitting, so we just changed them again."

Juan Pierre was examined by a hand specialist on Monday and it was determined that he will need to miss no more than five days of workouts, according to the AP. Pierre said that he should be fine for opening day. He tends to slide head-first, so the status of his finger could be significant for his stolen base attempts early in the season.

Juan Pierre dislocated his right pinkie finger Sunday when he slid headfirst on a steal attempt, according to the Tampa Tribune. He will miss at least a week, though he could miss up to six weeks if a specialist today finds ligament damage.
