July 10, 2008
Travis Hafner's shoulder is slowly improving, but there is still no timetable established as to when he might be healthy enough to return to the Indians lineup, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "For three or four weeks, there was no progress. But the last couple of weeks it's started to come around."

The Indians, led by head athletic trainer Lonnie Soloff, are confident that slugger Travis Hafner will return to action at some point this season, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Soloff said, "There's no doubt in my mind. Travis' rotator cuff and shoulder girdle strength has improved anywhere between 5 and 15 percent over the last seven days. It's highly encouraging for us."
June 19, 2008
The Plain Dealer reports that Dr. James Andrews told the Indians that Travis Hafner does not need surgery on his shoulder, back or rotator cuff. Hafner has no timetable to rejoin the lineup, but from what head trainer Lonnie Soloff told the paper, it could be a long time.
June 17, 2008
Dr. James Andrews will examine Travis Hafner's sore right shoulder on Wednesday, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Hafner, who has been out since May 25, has not responded to strengthening exercises as quickly as the Indians have hoped. "Travis has not responded as we would have hoped," said Lonnie Solof, Indians head athletic trainer. "As such we're going to seek a second opinion with Dr. Andrews. We want him to examine Travis and evaluate our return-to-play plan. We also want to have Dr. Andrews make any recommendations on how we can expedite his return to play." Solof added that it was "unlikely" Hafner would need surgery.
