Travis Hafner missed his third straight rehab game Wednesday and isn't expected to play again until Thursday after developing soreness in his right shoulder, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Head athletic trainer Lonnie Soloff said, "Haf's rehab pace has slowed. He played every other day for a week or so. It was his thought that he could use more time developing his endurance by working in the cage and progressing through batting practice as opposed to game situations."

Dr. James Andrews will examine Travis Hafner's sore right shoulder on Wednesday, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Hafner, who has been out since May 25, has not responded to strengthening exercises as quickly as the Indians have hoped. "Travis has not responded as we would have hoped," said Lonnie Solof, Indians head athletic trainer. "As such we're going to seek a second opinion with Dr. Andrews. We want him to examine Travis and evaluate our return-to-play plan. We also want to have Dr. Andrews make any recommendations on how we can expedite his return to play." Solof added that it was "unlikely" Hafner would need surgery.

"Basically, you start all over again in a couple months," Wedge old MLB.com. "So we're just going to ramp him up closer to interleague play." Pronk played 11 games at first last year but will be in his customary DH spot for the majority of the 2008 season.

Travis Hafner has found the "pop" in his bat this spring, according to IndiansConfidential.com. Hafner notably had a down year in 2007 and fell into a slump but he is off to a good start in 2008 as he is batting .408 (6-for-15) with three doubles and six RBI this spring. That is what we want to see from one of the league's top designated hitters.
