Hank Blalock had arthroscopic surgery on his sore right shoulder Monday, according to the AP. Blalock could start throwing again in six weeks if he doesn't experience any setbacks. He should be fine for spring training.

Hank Blalock will get a routine day off Monday, according to the Star-Telegram. Michael Young will start at DH in place of Blalock, and Joaquin Arias will start at shortstop.

Hank Blalock is likely to undergo an MRI exam on his right shoulder after the Rangers return home, according to the Dallas Morning News. Blalock's shoulder, which has been sore since Aug. 1, has not gotten worse. It's simply a precautionary move.

Hank Blalock served as the Rangers DH Wednesday for the second straight game, and he's played third base just once since September 1, according to the Dallas Morning News. Manager Buck Showalter stated that his reason for keeping Blalock off the field was because of a sore shoulder that has bothered the slugger since early August. Mark DeRosa has been starting at third as of late.

Manager Buck Showalter said that Hank Blalock will be on the bench more against left-handed pitching, according to the Dallas Morning News. Blalock is hitting just .198 against lefties since the start of last season. Mark DeRosa will fill in at third for Blalock against lefties, while the newly-acquired Nelson Cruz will start in right field.
