Players placed on the bereavement list can't pass through waivers. According to Foxsports.com Fuentes isn't eligible to come off the list until Friday and that will be too late for Fuentes to be traded and eligible for a team's post-season roster.

The report notes that Yankee scouts have not turned up at a Rockies game recently, an indication that while the paper has given up all hope on the last place team (22-38) the front office hasn't issues a "For Sale" sign on their players yet.
