| August 10, 2006 Wilson Betemit was given Wednesday off in part because he was hitting .111 against left-handed starters and partly because he had played nine straight games since coming over from the Braves, according to the LA Times. "This guy, Wilson Betemit, he's never played every day in his life over there in Atlanta, and since he got here he's been on the field the whole time, so he deserves a break," manager Grady Little said. Julio Lugo started in place of Betemit at the hot corner and probably will do so the remainder of the season against left-handed starters. |
