Rodriguez "looked a lot better, and (team doctor George) Paletta said he should be day-to-day. He could be ready as soon as (today)," general manager Walt Jocketty said.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that John Rodriguez will have X-rays taken of his right ankle on Monday. He was forced to leave Sunday's game in the sixth inning with what was initially diagnosed as a moderate-to-severe sprain. "I just heard something pop," he said. "I didn't know what it was. It might have just been my ankle cracking."
