Miguel Olivo withdrew his appeal of a two-game suspension prior to last night's game and Major League Baseball knocked it down to one game, according to the Seattle Times. He'll be available to play Sunday.

Dan Wilson will get the bulk of the starts at catcher for the Mariners over Miguel Olivo the rest of the season, according to the Seattle Times. "Miguel's having a tough time, and we're just giving him a little mental break," manager Bob Melvin said. "He'd be the first to tell you he's scuffling a little offensively."

Recovering from a passed kidney stone, Miguel Olivo felt enough pain following batting practice Wednesday that he returned to the hospital, according to the Seattle Times. "They checked me out, said I would be OK and sent me home," Olivo said. He should take batting practice today and likely will need a rehab assignment before being activated.

The Mariners placed Miguel Olivo on the 15-day DL on Thursday in order to give him time to recover from passing kidney stones, according to the AP. GM Bill Bavasi said he placed Olivo on the DL "to remove any uncertainty about his availability and make sure he doesn't try to rush back before he is completely ready."
