Chicago ace Carlos Zambrano showed why he is the face of success for the Cubs, pitching his team to a dominating 3-0 victory. Zambrano pitched eight innings, failing to surrender a single run on three hits. The Chicago hurler surrendered three walks balanced with three strike outs, picking up his fifth win of the season.

Carlos Zambrano developed a blister on his right index finger in Thursday's no-decision, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. He had thrown 111 pitches in the game, so the high pitch count likely had more to do with him getting taken out than the blister. ''That was enough for me,'' Zambrano said. ''I had a little blister on my [right index] finger.
