Matt Guerrier and the Twins agreed today to a $950,000, one-year contract that avoided a salary arbitration hearing, according to the AP. Guerrier was 2-4 with a 2.35 ERA and one save in 73 appearances last season, and right-handers batted just .187 against him.

Matt Guerrier pitched three scoreless innings to close out Sunday's game and earn his first career save. Guerrier started a game last week but is back in the bullpen now.

Matt Guerrier will start for the Twins on Tuesday against the A's, replacing the ineffective Scott Baker in the rotation. Guerrier, who has a 3.04 ERA as a reliever this season, will be limited to about 65 pitches, so it's doubtful that he'll pitch more than five innings.

Matt Guerrier pitched well in his first outing since returning from the DL. Guerrier, who had been sidelined with a fractured right thumb, threw three innings of relief while surrendering four hits and allowing one run.

The Twins activated Matt Guerrier from the disabled list on Wednesday, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Guerrier had been placed on the DL with a fractured right thumb.
