Blood tests were performed late Monday to see if Rocco Baldelli has developed an infection in his knee, which was surgically-repaired on Friday, according to the Tampa Tribune. He's felt persistent nausea since undergoing a procedure to repair his torn ACL. He isn't expected to return to Tampa Bay's lineup until late May at the earliest.

Rocco Baldelli underwent surgery Friday to repair a torn ACL in his left knee and is expected to miss at least six months, according to the AP. He suffered the injury October 24 while playing baseball with younger brother. "While I was playing with my brother, I jammed my leg," Baldelli said. "At the time, I didn't think much of it. I iced it for a few days, but it didn't get any better. Now we will just have to wait and see."

Rocco Baldelli will undergo surgery on Friday for a knee injury suffered while playing in his back yard. The Tampa Tribune reports that the injury is a torn ACL. The full extent of the damage won't be known until after the surgery, but it is likely that Baldelli will miss at least the first month of the 2005 season and possibly much more.
