It appears the work Brandon Phillips spent honing his swing while with the Indians paid off. He hit two home runs and scored three times for Triple-A Buffalo against Indianapolis on Tuesday.

The Indians optioned Brandon Phillips to Triple-A Buffalo, according to the AP. Phillips was 0-for-9 in six games with Cleveland. He spent most of his time in the majors working with coach Derek Shelton on shortening his swing.

Indians manager Eric Wedge hinted that Brandon Phillips may remain with the club long-term after being recalled yesterday, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "The majority of his development from now on will be at this level," Wedge said. "He has a tremendous amount of ability." Phillips is nursing a sore left wrist from being hit by a pitch while still with Triple-A Buffalo.

The Indians recalled Brandon Phillips from Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday and started him at second base in the place of Ronnie Belliard, who is suffering from leg cramps, according to the AP. Phillips, who went 0-for-4 on Saturday, was hitting .252 with 11 home runs and 33 RBI in 80 games with the Bisons.
