Brandon Phillips played shortstop on Friday and Saturday- and some have speculated that he could move there full-time next year- but he was back at second Sunday and Monday, according to the Cincinnati Post. "Not really," said manager Jerry Narron when asked if there was a reason why Phillips was moved back to second. "Just decided to put Richie over there and Royce over there. Saw (Phillips at shortstop) for two days - he looked OK, he looked fine." Phillips has had a nice breakout year, hitting .279 with 17 homers, 74 RBI and 25 steals (while being caught only twice).

Brandon Phillips, who injured his left eye when a ball bounced up and hit him, said he hopes to play Friday, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. "I'm OK," Phillips said. "My eye just feels real heavy."

Brandon Phillips sat out Wednesday's game after being hit near his left eye with an errant relay throw Tuesday night, according to the AP. An optic CT scan and eye test taken Tuesday night were normal. Manager Jerry Narron said Phillips' vision was fuzzy.

Brandon Phillips was knocked out of last night's game after being hit in the left eye by a thrown ball, according to the Cincinnati Post. An optical CT scan came back negative, and he was able to read an eye chart. It's not clear if he will miss any games.
