The Nationals have recalled Marlon Byrd from Triple-A New Orleans to replace the injured Ryan Church on their roster, according to the AP. Byrd batted .416 with five homers and 11 RBI in 20 games at New Orleans after being demoted by the Nationals at the end of July.

Nationals manager Frank Robinson doesn't expect Marlon Byrd will receive a lengthy suspension for his actions on Saturday. Byrd was ejected from Saturday's game for arguing a called third strike. He ran toward the umpire to argue, and in the process knocked over another umpire that was trying to stop him. "If it is a suspension, I don't look at it as being a lengthy suspension," Robinson said before Sunday's game. "He didn't attack the umpire."
