The Rangers signed Marlon Byrd to a one-year deal Friday, according to Sports Network. Byrd batted .223 with five home runs and 18 RBI in 78 games for the Nats this past season before being designated for assignment. At the moment, it looks like Byrd will compete for the starting job in center field.
