Jon Rauch worked a spotless ninth inning on Thursday to earn his third save of the season. On Wednesday, manager Manny Acta said closer Chad Cordero would not resume his ninth-inning duties until Friday.

Jon Rauch closed Wednesday's game with Chad Cordero working the eighth inning, though Manny Acta says Cordero will go back to closing when the Nationals return to action Friday, the AP reports. "It's nice to see that (Rauch) can close the games," Acta said. "That being said, what you do in four years, I don't forget in four outings. So after a day off tomorrow, if we can, Cordero's our closer again."
