Jon Rauch picked up his first save of the season with a perfect ninth inning on Wednesday night. Rauch is a useful middle reliever, but he becomes an intriguing pickup with Chad Cordero on the shelf. He'll assume a similar role in 2008, unless Chad Cordero gets dealt, in which case Rauch would be one of the favorites to take over the closer job.
