| August 10, 2006 The Indians website reports that with the promotion of Franklin Gutierrez, Shin-Soo Choo will see less playing time. Instead of playing everyday in right field, he will be part of a platoon, getting starts against right-handed pitching. |
| August 6, 2006 When the Indians acquired Shin-Soo Choo from the Mariners late last month, they planned to use him in a right field platoon, hitting against righties. However, he's looked so good since joining the Indians, that manager Eric Wedge said he's looking at Choo against lefties, too, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Choo started Saturday against Kenny Rogers and will face Wilfredo Ledezma Sunday. "You couldn't ask a young man to do much more," said Wedge. "He's been a big part of our offense since he came over. And it's not just one side of the game - it's offense and defense." |
