The Indians are not interested in the idea of having Shin-Soo Choo part of a platoon, which means that he's most likely going to start the year at Triple-A Buffalo, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "I want him to be an everyday guy," said manager Eric Wedge. The only real chance of Choo breaking camp with the team is if Trot Nixon isn't completely recovered from December back surgery.

According to manager Eric Wedge, Shin-Soo Choo needs to shed a few pounds before the spring, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. "But the good thing is, it's still January," Wedge said. "That's why we bring these guys in here. To see where they're at." With the recent signing of Trot Nixon, playing time will be hard for Choo to come by in 2007. Prior to the signing, he was slated to platoon with Casey Blake in right field.

Shin-Soo Choo appeared to be in line to start in right field for the Indians next season, but the signing of Trot Nixon may change that. As a matter of fact, barring a trade, Choo may begin the season in the minors, since Grady Sizemore, Nixon, David Dellucci, Jason Michaels and Casey Blake are all signed to big-league contracts.
