Pedro Feliz declined the Giants' arbitration offer Friday. The Giants would like to bring Feliz back on a one-year deal, but he wants a multi-year contract. "If it shifts to our way of thinking, which is shorter term, we're prepared to do that," GM Brian Sabean said in the Mercury News. "We're just not prepared to go long term. . . . I know he wants to come back, but the change of agents really might dictate it."

Free agent Pedro Feliz is said to be looking for a three-year deal, but he is unlikely to get three years from the Giants. "If that's the case, it's not something we're going to pursue," GM Brian Sabean said in the Mercury News. "At least not at this time." Feliz has hit 20 homers in four straight seasons and plays terrific defense, but his career OBP of .288 certainly leaves something to be desired.

Pedro Feliz batted just once in Saturday's win over St. Louis, popping out as a pinch hitter. He's in a 1-for-20 slump and hasn't been playing every day since Rich Aurilia came off the disabled list.

Pedro Feliz was forced to catch at the end of Friday's game when both San Francisco catchers left with injuries. Feliz isn't likely to catch again, but heads up if your league rules require just one game for position eligibility.

Pedro Feliz is getting a start in left field Sunday, his first outfield action of the year. Given the roster juggling that Bruce Bochy is employing these days in San Francisco, it's key for Feliz to prove he's capable in as many positions as possible. His bat has perked up a bit this week, with six hits and three homers in his last five starts.

Pedro Feliz is losing some playing time to Ryan Klesko, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. "(Pedro is) a guy who's flexible," manager Bruce Bochy said. "I can move him to other positions. As we get deeper into this streak (of 20 games in 20 days), we'll move some other guys around." Feliz was the odd man out Tuesday, as Klesko started at first and Rich Aurilia moved over to third. Feliz piled up 160 games and 603 at-bats last year, but he's already missed five full games this season (one of them to be with his pregnant wife).

Pedro Feliz missed Thursday's game so he could be with his expecting wife, the Oakland Tribune reports. The Giants hope to have Feliz available Friday.
April 6, 2007
Pedro Feliz didn't start Thursday so Bruce Bochy could get Ryan Klesko into the lineup, the Giants official site reports. Klesko got the call at first, Rich Aurilia moved to third, and Feliz didn't start. Feliz, who started 106 games before receiving his first break last season, didn't seem too excited about Bochy's move but refrained from complaining. "What can I do?" he said. "I want to play every game, but it's not going to happen." He'll be back in the lineup Friday, with Aurilia sitting.
