Mark Hendrickson is headed back to the bullpen on Tuesday, which means the Dodgers are in need of a starter for Friday's game against Colorado, according to the AP. Mark Hendrickson will start Sunday's game for the Dodgers. He'll be working on short rest, having thrown 77 pitches over five innings on Wednesday. "I don't think we'll be asking the starter … for a lot of innings," manager Grady Little told the LA Times. Hendrickson may not work a lot of innings, but the Dodgers bullpen has been taxed lately, so ideally he'll keep his pitch count low and work as far into the game as possible.

"We feel good putting him back in there," manager Grady Little said. Hendrickson replaces Kuo, who was sent to Triple-A on Sunday. Hendrickson is 2-3 with a 4.81 ERA in eight starts this season.

Mark Hendrickson will start Thursday at Colorado in place of the injured Jason Schmidt, according to the Dodgers official site. "Mark could get Schmidt's starts the next couple of turns," manager Grady Little said. Hendrickson has allowed just two runs in 11 innings this month, crediting his work with a sports psychologist.

Mark Hendrickson was sharp against the Cardinals on Thursday, throwing five scoreless innings, allowing three hits and walking one. He's competing for a rotation spot this spring, although Brett Tomko is reportedly the favorite to come away with the job at this spring.

The Dodgers avoided arbitration with Mark Hendrickson Monday by signing him to a one-year deal worth $2,950,000 million, according to the AP. With a stocked rotation, Hendrickson figures to work in middle relief for the club in '07.
