According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pirates' second baseman Freddy Sanchez is a late scratch for Friday's game with soreness in his back. He will be replaced by Ramon Vazquez in the lineup.

Freddy Sanchez went 3-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored in tonight's 3-0 win over the Cubs at PNC Park. He hit a double and two singles, and also swiped a base.
