An examination of the surgically repaired knee of Joe Mauer yesterday revealed nothing wrong, according to the Star-Tribune. He felt some pain in the joint while catching a bullpen session on Sunday and wanted to make sure everything was all right.

The Twins are still optimistic that Joe Mauer could be added to the postseason roster if they advance to the ALCS, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Mauer has been sidelined for 2½ months with an injured left knee. "He's running the bases, (but) he hasn't seen any live pitching at all," manager Ron Gardenhire said. "I think he needs to see some live pitching. That would mean sending him to Florida for a few days."
