October 8, 2007
Brewers left-handed pitcher Chris Capuano is getting a second opinion on his non-throwing sholder, after team trainers have diagnosed him with a torn labrum. Capuano started the season 5-0, but then lost 12 straight decisions and his job as a starter. The Brewers lost the final 22 games that Capuano appeared in.

Chris Capuano will start Sunday at Atlanta in place of the injured Ben Sheets. It's a curious choice by Ned Yost, given that the Brewers have lost the last 20 games Capuano has appeared in.
August 21, 2007
Chris Capuano, who hasn't won since early May, has been banished to the bullpen. With a couple off days over the next week, the Brewers will not need to replace Capuano in the rotation. They are hoping the injured Ben Sheets will be ready to return once a need for a fifth starter arises. "I'm not replacing him," manager Ned Yost told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel of Capuano. "We'll see what happens. Benny might be ready by then. I'm going to play it by ear."
August 16, 2007
Despite going 0-10 in his last 15 starts, Chris Capuano will make his next start on Sunday against the Reds, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "Cappy's an all-star," said manager Ned Yost. He needs to get himself back on track. If he gets himself back on track, he's going to be a huge bonus for us. I'm more than willing to give him more than a little leeway right now to try to work himself out of this." If Capuano struggles again on Sunday, the Brewers will have to seriously consider removing him from the rotation.
August 16, 2007
Chris Capuano will get at least one more start, Ned Yost announced Wednesday. The Brewers have amazingly lost in each of the last 15 games Capuano has started, in part to the lefty struggling mightily over that time (ERA just under 7).
August 15, 2007
Brewers manager Ned Yost is out at least toying of the idea of removing Chris Capuano from the starting rotation, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "It's something that we'll review," said Yost, whose club has lost 16 of its last 24 games. "I've got to think about it. I've got to talk to (general manager) Doug (Melvin) and see what his thoughts are, what our options are. We've got to see what our options are first. 'Cap' might still be the best option." Capuano is 0-10 with a 6.66 ERA over his last 15 starts.
July 18, 2007
Chris Capuano has lost six straight decisions, and the Brewers have lost his last nine overall turns, according to the team's official site. He'll try to get back on track Wednesday against the Diamondbacks. Capuano hasn't been sharp since coming off the disabled list, allowing 14 runs over 11 2/3 innings.
July 4, 2007
Chris Capuano made his first start on Tuesday since coming off the DL, and he allowed five hits and two runs (one earned) over 3.1 innings. He needed 84 pitches, walked two, and struck out three. "I felt good," Capuano tells the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "I just ran my pitch count up a little bit. Arm-wise and stuff-wise, I feel extremely good, just like I did before I went on the DL."
July 1, 2007
Chris Capuano was activated from the disabled list on Sunday. He's expected to start on Tuesday against the Pirates, according to the AP. Capuano had been sidelined with a strained left groin.
June 26, 2007
Chris Capuano, who is on the 15-day DL with a strained left groin, is expected to throw a simulated game on Wednesday, according to the AP. If all goes well, he is a possible starter on Tuesday when the Brewers face the Pirates.
June 21, 2007
Chris Capuano won't be ready to come off the disabled list next week, but he hopes to throw a simulated game or make a minor league rehab start. He is out due to a strained groin. "I've been throwing off flat ground and it feels a lot better," Capuano tells the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "All the soreness has gone away. But it's a big difference pushing off the mound."
June 15, 2007
Chris Capuano went on the 15-day disabled list Thursday due to his strained groin. The move is retroactive to June 9, so Capuano isn't expected to miss a lot of time. Prized prospect Yovani Gallardo has been recalled to step into the rotation in the meantime.
June 14, 2007
The Brewers are expected to place Chris Capuano on the 15-day disabled list on Thursday, MLB.com reports. Capuano missed his start on Wednesday due to a strained left groin. Either Carlos Villanueva or Yovani Gallardo will likely start in Capuano's place on Monday.
June 14, 2007
Chris Capuano was a late scratch Wednesday due to a strained left groin, the Brewers official site reports. When Carlos Villanueva stepped in for the start, it marked the first time the Brewers went outside their five-man rotation all year.
May 4, 2007
Chris Capuano will not miss a start despite being hit in the right calf by a batted ball Wednesday, the AP reports. Capuano left that game after three innings of work. Ned Yost said that he was never worried about Capuano even though he took him out of the game. "Nah, not on something like that. It would really surprise me if he would miss a start with a contusion in that area," Yost said.
May 2, 2007
Chris Capuano took a ground ball off his right calf during the second inning of Wednesday's game against the Cardinals. The southpaw stayed in the game and worked the third inning, but he was removed for a pinch-hitter after that. The Brewers told the Associated Press that Capuano has a contusion and is day-to-day.
