Manager Joe Torre hasn't ruled out starting Chien-Ming Wang in Game 4 on three days' rest, according to the New York Post. Wang gave up eight runs in 4 2/3 innings against Cleveland on Thursday. "First off, let me tell you, I am not afraid of Wang pitching against Cleveland again. He didn't pitch his game tonight. You know, you win 19 games in this league, you certainly earn it. I am certainly not going to shy away from pitching him again." If Torre decides not to start Wang in Game 4, Mike Mussina would be the most likely option.

The Yankees were forced to juggle their starting rotation Wednesday for their upcoming weekend series against the Royals. Roger Clemens, who received a cortisone shot in his right elbow Wednesday will not pitch Sunday. Chien-Ming Wang will start on his normal four daysÂ’ rest and get the call in the final game of the series according to the Associated Press.

Chien-Ming Wang had an ordinary debut Tuesday at Tampa Bay, allowing nine hits and four runs over 6 1/3 innings. He struck out four and didn't walk anyone. Wang also took a line drive off his left thigh in the sixth inning, though it didn't seem to be any major issue. "A little bit sore," he told the Newark Star-Ledger after the game.

Chien-Ming Wang worked five innings in a rehab start for Single-A Tampa on Thursday night. He allowed five hits and three runs. "He's ready to go," Yankees vice president Billy Connors told the AP. "The main thing at this time is the pitch count and he got to 74, then he went down to the bullpen and threw an extra 15. He's fine." Wang injured his right hamstring on March 23 and is expected to make his regular season debut on Tuesday, April 24.
