The Orioles activated Freddie Bynum from the 15-day disabled list Monday. He had been out since July 7 with a strained left hamstring. He's batting .277 with two homers and eight RBI in 48 games.

Freddie Bynum was 2-for-4 with two RBI in a rehab game on Friday. He should be activated from the disabled list prior to Monday's game, according to the Baltimore Sun. Bynum is working his way back from a strained hamstring, and it looks like it's safe to activate him for your lineups next week.

Freddie Bynum was expected to work out with Double-A Bowie on Monday and Tuesday before possibly beginning another rehab assignment, according to the AP. Bynum is over the strained hamstring that put him on the DL, but received five stitches in his left hand after sliding into a base during a rehab assignment with Single-A Delmarva on Sunday.

Freddie Bynum still is not ready to come off the disabled list. In fact, he's not expected to return to action before Friday, according to the Baltimore Sun. Bynum is recovering from a strained hamstring and had a setback when his hand was stepped on recently during a rehab game.

"The reports say he is not experiencing any discomfort and his leg is fine," manager Dave Trembley said. "Hopefully he'll be ready to go." Freddie Bynum took batting practice Friday for the first time since going on the disabled list. He also took grounders at shortstop and did some running, according to the Baltimore Sun. It's going to be a while longer before he returns from his strained hamstring, as he's expected to require a rehab assignment before being activated from the disabled list.

Freddie Bynum is making it hard on the O's to keep him as their final reserve, as he's hitting just .152 this spring, according to the Baltimore Sun. "Obviously, the fact that he can play infield and outfield puts him ahead of some people," manager Sam Perlozzo said. "But it's still going to come down to whether I need the versatility more in the infield and outfield, or would outfield just be enough. It helps him, no question."
