The Rangers recalled John Rheinecker from Triple-A Oklahoma Sunday, according to the AP. Rheinecker was 4-5 with a 6.03 ERA in 13 starts with the Rangers before being optioned to the minors on Aug. 1. Rheinecker will likely pitch out of the Rangers bullpen.

The performance of John Rheinecker tonight against the Yankees will help determine whether or not he'll remain in the rotation, according to the Dallas Morning News. With Adam Eaton returning from the DL, either Rheinecker or John Wasdin will be moved to the bullpen. "I'm a rookie, so I always feel I'm proving myself," Rheinecker said. "Every start, I feel pressure to perform. I feel like I'm on a short leash, so I'd like to pitch well, get some early outs and see if I can get deeper in the game."

John Rheinecker did not make the trip to Canada for a three-game series with Toronto after leaving his birth certificate at a Baltimore hotel room, according to the AP. After Rheinecker remembered where he left it the room was searched but it didn't turn up. He flew to Dallas and will rejoin the team in Boston for his start on Thursday.

However, Texas officials are also considering keeping Rheinecker on the roster and pitching him out of the bullpen. Rheinecker is 1-0 with a 1.46 ERA and 12 1/3 IP in two starts for the Rangers.
